Q :: What’s a 3Q Check-in?

A 3Q Check-in is a scheduled, 10-15-minute, three-question check-in with each person who reports to you — regardless of status. 

The three questions are easy:

1. How are you doing? 

2. How are we doing?

3. How can I help?

What’s not so easy is nurturing the trust that turns simple questions into real engagement.

• That requires consistency — you have to schedule your Check-ins and then actually show up in a way that shows you mean business.

• It requires sincerity — pretending to care wears thin PDQ.

• It requires fair play — 3Q Check-ins are meant to create a virtuous circle of trust … you have to hold up your end.
